Congratulations to our many SGBMA Members who are in the latest issue of The Flow Magazine  Winter 2011 7th Annual Gallery of Women in Glass!  They include:
Tracey  Alfaro, Lauren Bramble, Linda Butcher, Julie Delaney, Kim Edwards, Jinx Garza, Nolly Gelsinger, Ellen Howse, Lisa Mosser, Paula Pennell, Kris Schaible, Debby Weaver and Frances Wrenn.  Also in the same issue, be sure to read the article (demo) "Exploring Landscapes Using Copper Leaf" by Lisa St. Martin.
 
Congratulations to our members Kim Edwards, Nolly Gelsinger, Kathryn Lagassey & Lisa St. Martin whose  work was accepted into the Convergence III Exhibition. The exhibit will  be opening in Louisville, KY in conjunction with the ISGB Gathering.
Congratulations to our members Debby Weaver and Ann Davis whose beads were selected  for the ISGB Bead Show - "Surface". This show will be on display at  Bead & Button in June and the ISGB Gathering in July.
 
Ann Davis  reports she has opened up a new teaching studio La Ruche Davis (it means the Davis Beehive) you can find more information about the new studio & its classes here.
 
Julie Delaney is teaching viking knit and wire knit classes at East Street Beads in Frederick, MD.
 
Sally & Shannon Stevens of Sunroom Studios have a  step project in the latest issue of Bead Unique and a necklace in the  Gallery of the same journal, plus 3 projects in Easy Wire Magazine. Be  sure to check out their up coming classes here.
 
Rick Sherbert announced an upcoming glass show at the Workhouse Art Center in Lorton, Virginia.  Influence - 25 Years of Glass ArtOpening reception will be May 1st 2-4pm.  It will run from April 28th to May 29th.  Check here for more details.

Congratulations to our member Debby Weaver, whose mask bead made the cover of the ISGB Gathering booklet.  It is in the collection of Margo Knight. Check it out HERE.
 
Debby Weaver has been invited to participate in the 2011 Bead Invitational at PISMO Fine Art Glass in Denver, CO from May 1-31.  They want masks!
 
Jeri L. Warhaftig's new book, Creating Glass Beads, has just been released.  Debby  Weaver was one of fourteen glass bead artists from around the world who worked as project  testers on the various tutorials for over one year.  Several members from our area also participated in this project and have pictures of their beads included in the book:  Jinx Garza, Karen Leonardo and Michael Mangiafico.  Congratulations!  For more information, click HERE.
 
Artist Markets in Frederick, Maryland
Julie Delaney is a member of the Frederick Arts Council and participates  in the Artist Markets which is a free event that features original,  handmade arts and crafts by local artists.  Two of her flamework pendants  were featured on the advertisement postcard for the event.  One on the  front right and the other on the back right.  See attached - FRONT & BACK.
